Carlos Figueroa, assistant professor in the Politics Department, gave a public lecture titled "Unpacking the 2020 Census" at Binghamton University (BU) that was co-sponsored by the BU Center for Civic Engagement and the Andrew Goodman Foundation, May 1, 2018.   

The event, entitled “Unpacking the 2020 U.S. Census,” was held in the University Union. Figueroa presented on the dangers of including a question about citizenship status, which he claimed could lower response rates and hurt communities.
