It is with heavy hearts that we inform the Ithaca College community that Robert A. Holt, former director of Public Safety, passed away on June 1, 2018.

Bob served Ithaca College for nearly 20 years, assuming the position of director of public safety in January 1990 until his retirement in May 2008. He continued to work with the officers of the department over the next year focusing on special weapons and tactics training. Previous to that, Bob served for 22 years as a special agent with the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI).

Bob will be truly missed by his colleagues and friends at Ithaca College.   He was a mentor and friend to all who had the pleasure of knowing him, and we extend our deepest sympathy to his family.

The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 19, 2018 at 11 am at the First Assembly of God Church, 197 Bostwick Road in Ithaca. Visitation with family and friends will immediately follow the service at the Church. In lieu of flowers, the Holt family requests donations be sent to Alzheimer's Association at alz.org or SPCA of Tompkins County. Bangs Funeral Home is assisting the family.
