BEE TRAPPED INSIDE THE WINDOW, a new play by Saviana Stanescu (Faculty in Theatre Arts), at the Civic Ensemble, 7/26 ~ 8/3Contributed by Walter Chon on 07/21/18 Bee Trapped Inside the Window, a new play by Saviana Stanescu, Associate Professor of Playwriting and Theatre Studies, opens at the Civic Ensemble on 7/26. The production is directed by Vernice Miller and features Janilya Baizack, Sarah K. Chalmers, and IC student Erin Lockett. Walter Byongsok Chon, Assistant Professor of Dramaturgy and Theatre Studies, served as new play dramaturg, and Norman Johnson, Associate Professor of Acting (retired 2018), designed the set.
The play deals with modern-day slavery’s effect on the lives of three women in the leafy suburbs of Connecticut
