On Tuesday, September 4, Jaimie Voorhees will begin a new role at Ithaca College as Executive Assistant to the President in the Office of the President. Jaimie has been at IC for 18 years, and moves into this position from her prior role as the assistant to Gerard Turbide, Vice President for Enrollment Management. As Executive Assistant to the President, Jaimie will provide direct support to President Shirley M. Collado and serve as primary point of contact for internal and external constituencies in representing the Office of the President. During her career at IC, Jaimie has contributed her strong organizational skills and logistical planning expertise to enrollment management, finance and administration, and the provost’s office. She has also been active in the IC community as a regular volunteer at college events such as Commencement and Convocation, and through her service as a fitness class instructor, which she has done since 2013, both through the Office of Recreational Sports and at the Robert R. Colbert Sr. Wellness Clinic. Jaimie will assume the role held by Minnie Lauzon, who was instrumental in providing foundational assistance to the president during her first year at Ithaca College, ensuring a smooth transition between administrations.
