The Ithacan has been named a Newspaper Pacemaker finalist for 2018 by the Associated Collegiate Press. The winners of the award — widely regarded as the “Pulitzer Prize of collegiate journalism” — will be announced at the Associated Collegiate Press/College Media Association National College Media Convention in Louisville, Kentucky, October 25-28.

The award is presented for issues published during the 2017-18 academic year (Aidan Quigley, editor in chief).

Last year, The Ithacan was inducted into the Pacemaker Hall of Fame, which recognizes publications that have received at least 15 national Pacemaker and Pacemaker Finalist awards.

The Associated Collegiate Press is the oldest and largest national membership organization for college journalists in the country.
