Opportunity for class visits from Diversity Abroad - Thursday, September 27Contributed by Rachel Gould on 09/16/18
Diversity Abroad aims to ensure that students from diverse backgrounds are aware, have equal access, and take advantage of the benefits and opportunities afforded through global education. Their annual Passport Tour is focused on conducting campus visits across the United States in an effort to increase interest and participation in study abroad among underrepresented groups at university and college campuses. Diversity Abroad's online resources serve as a point of reference for students who may be interested in how to make study abroad a possibility and how identity may influence a student's international experience. Diversity Abroad also offers scholarships to fund study abroad programs. Class visits last about 5 minutes with optional additional time for Q&A. The representative is available for class visits and meetings from 9:00 am until noon, then from 1:00-2:00 pm. The visit will include a brief introduction to Diversity Abroad, and to the resources they offer. If you're interested in hosting Diversity Abroad for a class visit, please email Diversity Abroad representative Senait Chrisostomo directly at community@diversityabroad.com. Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations should contact International Programs at intlprog@ithaca.edu or (607) 274-3306. We ask that requests for accommodations be made as soon as possible. |
