New Office 365 Applications

Contributed by Lisa Efing-Guida on 09/18/18

We are pleased to announce that new tools within Office 365 will be made available to the campus community in the coming months. Beginning on September 20, 2018, students, faculty, and staff will see the Microsoft Teams, Planner and Bookings applications available in the Office 365 portal. These additional applications provide some great new tools for faculty, staff and students to use in and out of the classroom, and are a part of our continuing effort to provide the campus with a broad spectrum of applications and services.

What is Teams?

Teams is a communication and collaboration hub that brings together Office 365 applications and third-party tools into one space, making it easy for a group of people to work together in real-time around a topic or project. Teams includes chat, audio and video conversation and collaboration, file sharing, the ability to host virtual meetings, and more. Please visit the Teams IT Knowledge Base article for information.

What is Planner?

Planner is a lightweight project management application that allows you and your group to create a plan, organize tasks by topics, and assign tasks to individuals. Planner also integrates with Teams. Please visit the Planner IT Knowledge Base article for information.

What is Bookings?

Bookings is an online scheduling tool that allows customers to book appointments with departments and organizations. Please visit the Bookings IT Knowledge Base article for information.
