This year’s Park Distinguished Visitor is David Brooks, one of America's most prominent political commentators. Brooks will discuss "Our Lives On-Line: The Challenge of Forging Identities, Relationships and a New Society Through Mobile/Social Media."

Brooks writes a bi-weekly OpEd column for The New York Times.  he is a regular analyst on PBS NewsHour and on National Public Radio's All Things Considered.  Brooks has a gift for bringing audiences face to face with the spirit of our times with humor, insight and quiet passion.  His current book, The Road to Character, explores the road to a deeper inner life and explains why selflessness leads to greater success.  His previous books include The Social Animal, On Paradise Drive, and Bobos in Paradise.  Brooks worked at The Wall Street Journal for nine years and has written for The New Yorker, Forbes, The Washington Post, and many other periodicals.   

 

The Park Distinguished Visitor Series:
Leading professionals in the communications industry have been arriving annually at Ithaca College for over 15 years as part of the Park Distinguished Visitor Series, funded by the Park Foundation. These media experts inspire both students and members of the greater Ithaca community to put their ideas into action.
