 Ithaca College Chemistry Department faculty member Scott Ulrich received a $364,000 grant from the National Institutes of Health to fund a project titled Small-molecule inhibitors of autoinducer synthase enzymes in quorum sensing bacteria. The goal of the project is to discover drug-like compounds that block a bacterial signaling system that controls pathogenic traits in some bacteria that cause human disease.
