The short film, La Casa Verde, written by Wendy Dann, Associate Professor in Theatre Arts, will premiere as part of the Fort Lauderdale International Film Festival in November.

A foot-weary working woman sets out to unravel the mystery of a stranger at the mailboxes of her apartment complex, La Casa Verde. After following her up the stairs, they both discover more than what's behind the door.

Juana crosses Austin's I-35 by foot each day to work at a car wash and home again, risking her life to dodge between the cars. At the mailboxes one night stands a rich, beautiful stranger. Juana watches her each night and finally follows her around the corner and up the stairs, where the stranger faces her and opens the door. Inside is a surprise, and the possibility of two women from very different worlds coming one step closer.
