In collaboration with the Handwerker Gallery, the Out of the Closet and Onto the Screen LGBTQ film series will present selected shorts from the “America in Transition” documentary and social impact campaign on Tuesday, Oct. 2. The 6 p.m. showing will take place in the gallery. It is free and open to the public.

The documentary amplifies the experiences of transgender people of color across the United States — on themes of immigration, healing from trauma, sexual violence, HIV criminalization, faith and military service. A member of the “America in Transition” production team will Skype in for an audience Q& A following the showing.

The Out of the Closet and Onto the Screen series is sponsored by the Ithaca College Center for Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender (LGBT) Education, Outreach, and Services. For more information, visit www.ithaca.edu/lgbt.
