The Teaching and Learning with Technology (TLT) along with the Engagement and Client Technologies departments in IT are hosting an 8-week pilot of the Dell Canvas. Faculty are encouraged to demo the device and provide feedback. What is the Dell Canvas? The Dell Canvas is a 27-inch touchscreen workspace which sits horizontally on your desk and works with an all-in-one computer. The software and supporting hardware and peripheral tools will empower the user’s digital creativity and innovation. Use the pressure sensitive Pen and Totem to control multiple features of the software right on the Canvas. Create, edit, revise and publish using the Canvas software, or specialty software for your field of teaching. For more information about the device visit the Dell website. Where can I try it out? The Dell Canvas is on tour around campus October 8 – November 16. Many schools are hosting the Canvas in a collaborative learning space within several buildings on campus. The Dell Canvas will also be available in the Instructional Media Lab (Job 102) November 12-16. TLT staff will provide 1:1 or small group demonstrations and trainings upon request. Contact TLT for demo days, times and locations. How can I get more information? Contact Dr. Jenna Linskens, Associate Director for Teaching & Learning with Technology via email at jlinskens@ithaca.edu or phone 274-1590. |
