The Kitchen Theatre Company is seeking volunteers to join their 2018–2019 Community Engagement Committee.

Voted ‘2018 Best Cultural Asset’ in Ithaca Times, the Ithaca-based Kitchen Theatre Company (KTC) is seeking volunteers to join their 2018–2019 Community Engagement Committee. The goals of the Committee are to create and coordinate efforts for bringing new constitutes and patrons to the theatre; make recommendations regarding KTC promotional efforts and events that ensure inclusivity and accessibility; and to help build sustainable partnerships with community members, both individual and corporate.

The Committee, which formed earlier this year, is working on the following projects:

  • Planning for a June 2019 event that will bring together Board members of theatre across the region to discuss shared challenges and promising practices.
  • Engaging area hotels by providing introductory information about the KTC along with complimentary vouchers that can be used to encourage hotel employees to check out the theatre or used to enhance the hotel’s customer service program.

  • Hosting a Chamber of Commerce Business After Hours event at the KTC.

The KTC is very interested in having higher education representation on the Community Engagement Committee, including student participation. The volunteer Committee serves in an advisory capacity to the KTC Board of Directors. The Committee meets the 3rd Tuesday of the month at 5:30 p.m.

If you’re interested in supporting the KTC’s mission of offering bold theatre that engages community and sparks important conversations, please contact Bevin O'Gara, KTC Producing Artistic Director, at 607– 272–0403 or at bevin@kitchentheatre.org.
