August Orientation Open Forums

Contributed by Grace Terry on 11/25/18

We want to hear from you!

New Student and Transition Programs and the August Orientation Committee Chairs will be working together to host four open forums in November/December to share initial updates, draft ideas, and gather information from our campus partners regarding our transition to a fall orientation model. These sessions will be:

August/Fall Orientation Open Forums:

Faculty Session: November 30th 10a-11a in Taughannock Falls

-      Expected Discussion Items: Advising, Registration, & Academic Programming (though all topics and questions are welcome)

Student Session: December 4th 12p-1p in Emerson A

-      Expected Discussion Items: Programming, Schedule, & Supporting Students from Different Identify & Affinity Groups (though all topics and questions are welcome)

Staff Session: December 7th 3p-4p in Taughannock Falls

-      Expected Discussion Items:  Programming, Schedule, Summer Communication & Contact Initiatives, Staffing, and Logistics (though all topics and questions are welcome)

Open Session: December 14th 3p-4p in Roy H. Park School Auditorium

-      All topics and questions are welcome!

Sessions are not restricted to a certain population, however with an assumption that faculty, staff, or students will ask questions most relevant to their own focus area or lens, we wanted to provide a space that allows for more in-depth discussion about topics most relevant to each group. We encourage anyone who is unable to attend their specific affinity group session, to join the open session for all, if possible, then any of the other sessions. We look forward to hearing from you, gathering feedback, and sharing our ideas and excitement with you.
