The Teaching & Learning with Technology team is providing multiple opportunities to collaborate with peers and learn from each other this semester through a variety of Learning Series sessions. See below for a detailed list of December TLT Learning Series events.  

Apps & Appetizers: Online Tools for your Winter-term Class - with special guest (Please RSVP) 

Join us for a special drop-in session and we will show you how applications like VoiceThread, Sakai Discussion boards, Top Hat, and other digital tools can grow student engagement and learning. Meet 1:1 with Nic Porter, Top Hat Account Representative for Ithaca College, to learn more about the student response system and secure online testing feature.

  • Where: Instructional Media Lab – Job 102 

Educause Webinar: Gender Identity in Higher Education: How Technology Can Support (or Limit) Inclusiveness on Campus  (Please RSVP) 

This webinar will focus on best practices, case studies, and methods on how technology can support non-binary gender identifying persons and trans persons. We will focus on how supporting diversity and inclusiveness on campus can contribute to an institution's larger objectives and mission. Explore issues faced by LGBTQIA students on college campuses and discuss how you can support your students.  

  • When: Wednesday, December 11th @ 12:15 – 1:00pm 
  • Where: TLC – Friends 101 

Demo Days: Optical Scanning Self-Service Station 

Located in the Faculty Learning Center – Job Hall 103 - faculty, TAs or designated department staff can process scanning jobs at their convenience 24/7. At the self-service station process student assessments without needing to fill out long forms, having long wait times, or making multiple trips to the IT Service Desk. With just a few clicks, login to the software, scan the bubble sheets, send reports to email, and view test data in minutes. Users of Optical Scanning are encouraged to participate in hands-on training on the Self-Service Station, which has custom Remark software and a small Scantron scanner.  

  • When: Thursday, Dec 6 11:00am – 1:00 pm (drop-in or by appointment) 
  • Where: Faculty Learning Space – Job 103
