Join the Office of Religious and Spiritual Life for a conversation with Dr. Gregory Cuéllar and Nohemi Cuéllar, founders of Arte de Lágrimas: Refugee Artwork Project.

Using drawings from children released from detention on the U.S./Mexico border, the Cuéllars explore how to reclaim the sacredness of the Other in the borderlands.

An interdisciplinary and international biblical scholar, Dr. Gregory Cuéllar is an associate professor of Old Testament at Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary. Together, the Cuéllars have served immigrant-majority churches in Dallas and Austin, and regularly advocate for justice for migrants at the U.S./Mexico border.

All are invited to this third installment in an interfaith series on immigrants. Our lecture will be held in Muller Chapel on Wednesday, December 5th at 6:00 PM. A small sample of original drawings from migrant children will be on display from December 5th to December 12th in Muller Chapel.

Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations should contact Hierald Osorto at hosorto@ithaca.edu. We ask that requests for accommodations be made as soon as possible.
