Jennifer Germann (Art History) presented new research at the Sixth Feminist Art History Conference at American University.

Jennifer Germann, Associate Professor of Art History, presented her paper “Between History and Representation: Gender, Race, and Social Rank in Georgian Portraiture.” This paper traced portraits and life histories of three Black and mixed-race women in eighteenth-century Great Britain. This presentation was based on research supported by a Fulbright Scholar Award in Spring 2018 and a Franklin Research Grant from the American Philosophical Society in Summer 2018.
