Ithaca College

Ithaca College is committed to providing critical education and training to our faculty, staff and student employees.  As part of IC’s annual comprehensive training program, which ensures compliance with the recent New York State legal mandates, Ithaca College requires all employees to complete the EVERFI Harassment and Discrimination Prevention training course.  This online training will provide faculty, staff and student employees with useful resources that will help foster a safe, inclusive, and respectful campus environment by introducing and explaining various concepts surrounding harassment and discrimination.

Throughout the training employees will explore policies and regulations related to Title IX, Title VII, and NY Human Rights Law by using online scenario-based interactions and case studies.  The awareness provided to employees through the course will aim to reinforce college policy and compliance expectations in the workplace.  The estimated seat time to complete the training is approximately 60 minutes for non-supervisory employees or 90 minutes for employees with supervisory roles.

Throughout the training employees will:

•  Read and acknowledge the College’s policies addressing discrimination and harassment
• Build an understanding of unconscious biases and unlawful discrimination and harassment
• Learn the definition of sexual harassment and understand how to recognize and respond to unlawful behaviors
• Understand the concept of an active bystander
• Realize the importance of preventing retaliation

All employees will soon receive an email invitation with instructions for accessing the course.
