This is a friendly reminder to students living on campus that all Residence Halls, except for the Circle Apartments and the Garden Apartments, will close for Winter Break at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, December 21, 2018.

All Residence Halls begin offering a break housing option to residents who lived on campus Fall 2018 in their fall assignment, beginning January 2, 2019. All Residence Halls will officially re-open at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, January 19, 2019.

Residents will not be authorized to enter a closed residence hall for any reason. For more information on Winter Break closing, please review the instructions you will receive from your Resident/Apartment Assistant or read more on our Openings, Closings, and Breaks webpage.

Students living on campus for both Fall 2018 and Spring 2019 semesters can register to return to their fall assignment as early as 9:00am on January 2, 2019 as part of our Winter Break Housing option. The Winter Break Housing Registration Form is available on IC workflow. More information is on our Break Occupancy Request webpage.

Current Circle and Garden Apartment residents who are returning to their apartment for the Spring 2019 semester are able to register online for Winter Break Housing and stay in their Fall 2018 assignment for the duration of the winter break period.  Remember to register to stay on IC workflow.

Opening is Saturday, January 19, 2019, for students who did not live on campus for the Fall 2018 semester and are moving onto campus for Spring 2019. Students requesting to check into their new assignment prior to January 19, 2019 can request an earlier check-in date through the Spring Early Arrival Request form. The earliest date that can be requested is Thursday, January 17, 2019. The form will be available beginning January 2, 2019 through IC Workflow. If the reason for the early arrival request is related to on-campus employment, athletics, academics, or student organizations the request form must be submitted by an IC faculty or staff supervisor. More information is on our Early Arrival Request webpage.

If you have questions regarding Break Occupancy, please e-mail breakhousing@ithaca.edu.
