Each fall semester, the New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control (OFPC) routinely inspects all Ithaca College facilities' common areas as well as some randomly selected rooms and apartments for fire code violations. This happened in October 2018. The State Inspector has now scheduled re-inspections of all spaces with a documented violation for the week of December 17th - 21st. The schedule of residential building re-inspections is set by the State Fire Inspector, and has been scheduled to begin Monday, December 17, 2018. Re-inspections of violations previously found during the initial October checks will continue until completed and can be anticipated to continue through the week. Individual rooms and apartments are not able to be notified of a specific date and time the inspection will occur, and residents do not need to be present for the inspection to occur. All on-campus residents will receive an email with more information; please be sure to check your spam, clutter and junk folders if you do not see it. For more information, please read our webpage on health & safety checks and familiar yourself with the policies state in the Room and Apartment Guides. |
