Pippi to Ripley: Feminist and Fantastic Popular Culture is being held at Ithaca College in April 2019. Would you like to present at next spring’s Pippi to Ripley: Fantastic and Feminist Pop Culture conference? In the past, students have presented on TV shows, films, contemporary music, videogames, comics, podcasts, children’s literature, fairytales and YA literature—and this list can be expanded to include other forms of pop culture. Presentations are 15 minutes long and usually include a powerpoint. There are three ways that you can prepare to present: 1) Sign up for Advanced Studies in Feminist Science Fiction - ENGL 48300 01 (3 spaces still available) 2) Do an independent study with a faculty mentor in your field. 3) Work with Professor Kittredge in a Block II one-hour-a-week, one credit Conference Prep class (Time and course number TBA) If you are interested in presenting, please send an e-mail to Katharine Kittredge (kkittredge@ithaca.edu) prior to January 1, 2019. We will discuss possible topics, how you should prepare, and intermediate goals.
