This 3 credit online course carries both a Diversity and Power and Justice theme designations. Earn ICC credit in this 10 day online Winter session (January 7-18) while learning how to discuss issues related to Race and Ethnicity in the U.S.

If you have ever wanted to engage in discussions on race but did not know where to start? Then you should consider taking this class. Using films, readings and other online resources, students will learn and discuss key concepts related to issues of race, ethnicity, racism, immigration, housing segregation, voter suppression and cultural appropriation in the U.S. Students will make connections between historical institutions, constructions and policies, and contemporary social issues like immigration, wealth inequality and representations in media. There is no set meeting time for this class, so students can work at their own pace.

If you have any questions or would like to take a look at the syllabus please contact Dr. Belisa Gonzalez at bgonzalez@ithaca.edu.
