The South Central Regional Library Council (SCRLC) has awarded a $2680 Technology and Digitization Grant to the Ithaca College Library to digitize 54 volumes of the Cayugan (the Ithaca College yearbook) from 1913-2005, as well as 153 issues of the Ithacan, the Ithaca College newspaper.  

 

The newspapers and yearbooks will be added to New York State Historic Newspapers and New York Heritage Digital Collections, and made freely available to everyone at nyshistoricnewspapers.org and nyheritage.org. SCRLC’s Technology and Digitization Grants are funded as part of the Regional Bibliographic Data Bases and Interlibrary Resources Sharing (RBDB) Program.

The South Central Regional Library Council is one of nine Library Councils comprising the Empire State Library Network (ESLN). As a multi-type library consortium, SCRLC serves 78 members across 10,000 square miles in the counties of Allegany, Broome, Cayuga, Chemung, Chenango, Cortland, Delaware, Otsego, Schuyler, Seneca, Steuben, Tioga, Tompkins, and Yates. SCRLC provides services to 20 academic libraries, 17 hospitals, 6 public libraries, library systems and their members, 6 school library systems and their members, 11 special libraries and 18 affiliate members. SCRLC reaches over 500 libraries in its service area.
