Why Use Learning Reflective Journals as a Tool for Teaching? There are several goals for Learning Reflective Journals (LRJ): to encourage students to write more outside the classroom, and to get students to think more consciously about what happens, or should occur inside the classroom (E.g., the levels and types of class discussions and debates) by bringing their private thoughts to the public classroom setting.
