The most recent edition of Music Theory Online, the online journal of the Society for Music Theory, features an article describing the editorial history J.S. Bach's violin partitas by Prof. Crystal Peebles. This article also features performances by Prof. Susan Waterbury, which were recorded by Prof. Michael Caporizzo.

This article illustrates how performance editions of Bach's B-minor Partita (BWV 1002) capture not just contemporary performance practice, but the analytical decisions involved in creating an edition for a single-line, solo instrument. As a performer/editor changes elements of the score, these changes influence how the notes group together to form chords, motives, and metrical hierarchies.
