Volunteer Debate Judges Needed

Contributed by Scott Thomson on 02/01/19

Ithaca College is hosting a debate tournament on the weekend of February 9 and 10 and needs volunteer judges to watch debates.

On February 9 and 10 Ithaca College's Speech and Debate hosts the Sydney Landon Invitational Debate Tournament.  Several schools will come to Ithaca and engage in a variety of speech and debate events.  One type of debating emphasizes communicating to "lay" audiences (audiences that have no experience or expertise in intercollegiate debating).  You can judge if you are a student, faculty, staff, or friend of Ithaca College.  Judging is fun - it only takes about hour to watch one round.

Judges are needed on Saturday, Feb 9 at 8am, 11am, 2pm, 4pm, and 6pm. On Sunday there are debates at 10am and 11am.

Arrive a few minutes early to get a quick how to.

The tournament will be centered in Williams - check in at Williams 225.

If you can help let us know what times you are available - contact Scott Thomson - pthomson@ithaca.edu
