Come travel with us to meet with IC Alumni working in Health Care!

Deadline for application is Friday, February 8th - see link below to apply

2019 marks the 7th year that the Ithaca College Association of Health Professionals (ICAHP) is leading a networking trip to a city outside of Ithaca. Our group has historically sought to connect with potential employers, collaborate with individuals from different industries, and strengthen applications for graduate school. This trip can also serve as a fundamental part in your development as a health professional.  We hope to showcase to you a sampling of the wide range of careers that are possible with a degree from the department of health promotion and physical education and Ithaca College.

This year, we will be traveling to sites in Rochester (NY), Buffalo (NY), and Cleveland, Ohio from Thursday, April 4th to Saturday, April 6th.

At each site, we will meet with IC Alumni and other representatives who will present to us to learn more about the organization, ask questions, and to engage in discussions about contemporary issues.

The itinerary is as follows:

Thursday, April 4th: Drive to Rochester, NY.

  • Melissa Gardner (IC HCM '01), Senior Vice President, Strategic Business Programs, Excellus BCBS

Drive to Buffalo NY

  • Carin Pracht (IC HCM '14), Decision Support Adviser, Kaleida Health

Drive to Cleveland Ohio. Stay at The Cleveland Hostel.

Night game Cleveland Indians - with IC Alumni - tickets courtesy of Alumni Affairs

Friday, April 5th

  • Andrew Goldfrach (IC HPS '05), Chief Executive Officer, University Hospitals Avon
  • Jessica O'Connor, Patient Experience Consultant, The Cleveland Clinic
  • Angela Bowling, Case Western University

Saturday, April 6th

  • Rock 'n Roll Hall of Fame
  • Drive back to Ithaca

A one credit Block II course is required of all accepted students to prepare to meet with our contacts and improving knowledge about the current state of healthcare. The course is posted on Homer as HLTH 39908 Health Policy & Management in Cleveland.

The class will meet Friday mornings at 8:00am just for the two weeks leading up to the trip and at least one time after the trip to debrief.
