Joey Slaughter earned his MFA from Cranbrook Academy of Art and was then awarded the Joan Mitchell Foundation MFA Grant. Slaughter has exhibited widely throughout the US in both solo and group exhibitions. In 2018, he had a solo show at Cole Pratt Gallery in New Orleans. He has been published in Fresh Paint and in New American Paintings and has been awarded numerous grants and residencies. He is Associate Professor of Art at Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, Louisiana.
