An evening workshop introducing the toe-tapping world of Scottish traditional music, presented by Rachel Gray.  Learn about the instruments and styles that have made Scottish music world-famous, listen to examples of modern and traditional Scottish music, and try your hand at the bagpipes!

No previous experience is necessary- just an interest in trying something new and having some fun! Thursday, February 21 7:30-9:00PM in the Iger Lecture Hall (Room 2105 Ford Hall)

Rachel is a Scottish piper and traditional musician from Edinburgh and a current Cornell graduate student. She is the holder of the 2018-19 St Andrews Society for the State of New York Scholarship- a fund intended to promote educational exchange and celebrate the historical and cultural connections between Scotland and New York state. She has been a bagpipe instructor to schools and local communities for 12 years and was formerly a member of the National Youth Pipe Band of Scotland and the Piper to the Chancellor of the University of St Andrews.
