Concert to feature Roxy Coss, guest saxophonist, composer and activistContributed by Michael Titlebaum on 02/20/19 The Ithaca College Jazz Ensemble will perform with guest artist Roxy Coss on Wednesday, February 27th at 8:15pm in Ford Hall in the Whalen Center for Music. The performance will feature tunes from Coss's new album "The Future is Female" which received 4.5 star reviews from Downbeat Magazine and All About Jazz. In addition to being a world-renowned saxophonist and composer, Coss is an activist. She founded the New York City-based Women In Jazz Organization in order to "help level the playing field in Jazz, so that women and non-binary people have equal opportunity to participate in and contribute to Jazz, leading to an improved and more rich, diverse, and successful art form." The concert is free and open to the public. Individuals with disabilities requiring accommodations should contact Michael Titlebaum at mtitlebaum@ithaca.edu or (607) 274-1283. We ask that requests for accommodations be made as soon as possible. |
