The Ithaca College Department of Athletics will have another busy weekend on campus this Friday to Sunday as six teams are in action at their home venues.
Most notably, the women’s basketball team will host the opening rounds of the NCAA Division III Championship on Friday and Saturday inside Ben Light Gymnasium. IC earned the right to host after winning the Liberty League title last weekend and will welcome three other schools to South Hill.
The Bombers play SUNY Poly at 7 p.m. Friday evening, and if victorious, will return to action on Saturday at 5 p.m. against the winner of MIT and St. Joseph’s (Maine).
Admission to the games will be free for Ithaca College students, faculty and staff.
At the Athletics and Events Center on Friday and Saturday, IC’s track & field teams host the All-Atlantic Track & Field Regional Championships. Competition begins at 11 a.m. on Friday and 10 a.m. on Saturday. This will be the final meet of the season before the Bombers head off to the NCAA Division III Championships.
Admission to this event is also free.
Also on Saturday, the nationally ranked men’s and women’s lacrosse teams open their seasons. The men will play Geneseo at 12 p.m. and the women follow at 3 p.m. against Cortland.
The men's and women's tennis teams are also in action on Sunday at 10 a.m. as they play host to St. Lawrence at the A&E Center.
Concluding the weekend’s festivities is the gymnastics team with a tri-meet against Brockport and Cortland at 1 p.m. on Sunday in Ben Light Gymnasium.
We hope to see you at one or more of our events this weekend!
