At graduation, we recognize our first-gen graduating seniors (and this year, graduate students) at Commencement with a first-gen cord. This year, a great idea was brought up to us-- we would like to offer first-gen faculty a cord to wear with their academic regalia.
What a wonderful way to show students our proud first-gen community at both Commencement and at New Student Convocation!
