On Thursday, March 21st, the College will be holding its 29th Educational Technology Day.  This exciting event attracts hundreds of visitors to our campus to explore new technologies and learn how technology can be used in and out of the classroom.  We are asking that students, staff, and faculty please be aware of the parking impact of Ed Tech Day on both the event date and the preceding Wednesday, as described below.  Campus community members should also consider alternate transportation arrangements such as carpooling, drop-offs, and use of public transportation.

In order to accommodate event set-up, vendors, and guest parking, the U-Lot (Campus Center lot), M-Lot (A&E Center lot) and parts of S-Lot ext. (across Grant Egbert Blvd) will be dedicated exclusively to this event for extended periods of time.  U-Lot will be closed starting at 1 PM on Wednesday, March 20th and will remain closed through the end of the business day on Thursday, March 21st.  M-Lot and parts of S-Lot ext. will be closed for the entirety of the day on Thursday, March 21st.  These lots will not be available to staff, students, and faculty.  Dependent on Ed Tech Day attendance, guest vehicles also may be directed to additional parking lots including Z-Lot (southeast of Emerson Hall) and Y-Lot (across 96B from the main campus entrance), so please be aware of the possibility of general diminished parking availability in other lots around campus.

If the lots that are noted above are areas you would typically park in, we ask that you utilize alternative lots during the times cited above.  We also encourage those who can to take advantage of the TCAT system and ride the bus to campus on Thursday, or consider other options if available such as carpools or being dropped off.  Please be aware that individuals requiring ADA accessible parking spaces in any reserved lot can continue to access those spaces by speaking directly with lot attendants.

Ed Tech Day is an important occasion for the campus and one of the largest public showcase events that we hold.  The College benefits in many ways from this exposure, and we deeply appreciate your understanding and adjustment of your parking plans to help this event succeed.  We also hope that you take advantage of this great free event!  Please visit www.ithaca.edu/edtechday for the complete schedule and details.
