On Thursday, 3/21 the MIND team will begin creating mentor pairs and we want to give interested community members a final opportunity to join the spring 2019 cohort.  Please see the information below about how to participate.

The M.I.N.D. Presidential Seed Grant initiative seeks students, faculty, and staff to participate in a campus based, dual-directional mentoring program!

M.I.N.D. stands for the Mentoring Initiative for Networking and Development and while it has aspects of a traditional mentoring program, it has some unique goals.  These include:

  • Building mentoring relationships across traditional academic disciplines and interest areas and,
  • Dual directional mentoring.  In other words, faculty/staff can mentor students, but students can gain experience as a mentor by mentoring a faculty/staff member in an areas of their expertise.

Over the course of the semester, MIND will host two networking/growth events, one in March and one in April. During the semester MIND pairs (mentors & mentees) are encouraged to meet every 3-4 weeks.  As part of the program, each MIND participant will have access to 2 beverage vouchers.

We anticipate that the initial MIND cohort will consist of 30 MIND pairs and interested persons should e-mail John Fracchia for more information.
