21st Annual Finger Lakes Environmental Film Festival April 1-7: DISRUPTIONSContributed by Patricia Zimmermann on 03/24/19 The 21st Annual Finger Lakes Environmental Film Festival (FLEFF) runs April 1-7 on the Ithaca College campus and downtown at Cinemapolis. This year's festival theme is DISRUPTIONS. Disruptions stop the flow of events, ideas, processes, and structures which can no longer continue like before. Disruptions stop the flow of events, ideas, processes, and structures which can no longer continue like before FLEFF is a week-long interdisciplinary event showcasing film, music, journalism, literature, new media, gaming, installation, silent film/live music, lectures, scholarly research, and robust discussion. It features over lectures, concerts, master classes, labs, panels, readings, screenings, and meet-ups. 60-plus events on the Ithaca College campus and 42 screenings of international cinema and new media downtown at Cinemapolis. FLEFF featured guest artists, writers, musicians, filmmakers, new media artists, and scholars include: Arshad Khan, Tony Cokes, Jackie Goss, Kelly Gallagher, Philip Mallory Jones, Ann Michel,Philip Wilde,Jairo Geronymo,Janet Galvan, Andres Levinson, Cynthia Henderson, Jennifer Herzog, Cloud Chamber Orchestra, Lil Ann and the Hot Cayenne, Harry Greenberger, Sara Corrigan,Elizabeth Wijaya, Claudia Pederson, Girish Shambu, Pawel Wojtasik, Raza Rumi, Sonali Samarasinghe, Dario Azzellini, Rodrigo Brandão, WITNESS, Diana Rosa, Palika Makam, Dawn Pierce, Elena Galvan, Aaron Witek, David Earll, Jaylene Clark Owens, Norman W Johnson Jr , David Ost,Saviana Staneescu, Jonathan Ablard and more. Plus: faculty members from Ithaca College, Cornell University, Eastern Tennesse State University, University of Minnesota, Brown University, Bard College, Syracuse University, Wichita State University, University of Rochester, Canisius College, and Hobart and William Smith Colleges who will be presenting their work, facilitating, and moderating.
