Holistic Justice: A Model For Healing, Interconnectedness, and Shared LiberationContributed by Hierald Osorto on 03/27/19 Wednesday, March 27, 2019 How do we approach liberation? Are we chasing relationship and reconciliation with the other or a pure and perfect manifestation of justice or righteousness? In this talk, AnaYelsi Velasco-Sanchez will discuss what it looks like to approach justice in a way that does not recreate toxic models. AnaYelsi offers a model of Holistic Justice that prioritizes healing and wholeness, and values the interconnectedness between all parts of ourselves, between individuals, and between movements and communities. Born in Venezuela, AnaYelsi Velasco-Sanchez is an IndoLatinx mujerista working to create and agitate her way through the Latin diaspora. With a decade of faith-based community organizing experience, she now works independently—pursuing justice in an intersectional and holistic way. She works as a consultant, educator, writer, and visual artist in both sacred and secular spaces. AnaYelsi is the founder of En Conjunto—a collective providing support, community, resources, and collaborative opportunities to people of color working independently at the intersection of justice and spirituality.
