Visiting Assistant Professor in Media Arts, Sciences, and Studies, Arzu Karaduman, presented her paper, "Murmurations: The Mysterious Mythical Muttering of the Dead Mother," at the 50th Northeast Modern Language Association Convention in Washington, DC on March 23, 2019. This paper examines the ghostly murmurations of the prosecutor's wife from beyond the grave that call for a response in Once Upon a Time in Anatolia. The autopsy scene in the finale is analyzed as the response to her call in the form of a quoted speech operating as a double affirmation in the Derridean sense.
