Patricia Zimmermann, Professor of Screen Studies and Codirector of the Finger Lakes Environmental Film Festival (FLEFF) presented at the recent Society for Cinema and Media Studies Conference in Seattle, Washington, March 13-17, 2019.

Her paper was entitled "Digital Habitats:  Documentary, New Media, and the Environment."  It drew from new media projects curated for the FLEFF online exhibitions. 

The paper was cowritten with Dale Hudson, Associate Professor of Film and New Media at NYU Abu Dhabi and curator of new media for FLEFF.  It was an excerpt from their forthcoming book, Digital Habitats: Medias and Environments (Indiana).
