The Society of Professional Journalists invites you to a Google Hangout networking event with Kyle Stewart '18, Kate Sheppard '06 and Callum Borchers '09 on Monday, April 1 at 6:00 p.m. in Park 223.

Kyle Stewart ‘18 is the NBC News Tim Russert Fellow. This position is a year long “boot-camp” in political journalism in the NBC Washington D.C. bureau. Stewart started by working on Meet the Press and is now in the Political Unit, where he produces and edits podcasts, writes digital stories, and contributes to the First Read newsletter. He majored in journalism with a minor in economics. Stewart is originally from Troy, NY.  

Kate Sheppard '06 is a senior enterprise editor at HuffPost. She previously reported for Mother Jones, Grist, and The American Prospect. Her reporting has been recognized with awards from the Society of Environmental Journalists, the Online News Association and the Deadline Club, and featured in The Best American Science and Nature Writing. She is also a teaching associate professor in the School of Media and Journalism at the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. 

Callum Borchers '09 covers the Greater Boston business community for WBUR, Boston’s NPR news station. He joined WBUR in 2018 from The Washington Post, where he reported on the intersection of politics and media. He previously covered politics, business and sports at The Boston Globe and was editor of Citizen’s News in Naugatuck, Connecticut. Callum holds a master’s degree in journalism from Northeastern University and is a member of the Park Scholar Alumni Advisory Board at Ithaca College.
