 Each week, the office of New Student & Transition Programs will be sharing our responses to our most frequently asked Orientation questions. Our hope is increase awareness and understanding around this new program and why it is beneficial to our incoming students. 

 This week’s question is: Why is there an Additional Cost for Orientation?

 Ithaca College is committed to being good stewards of students’ tuition dollars and being transparent in the costs associated with our required Orientation program. This one-time $285 charge directly supports:

• multiple events each day designed to meet students’ diverse needs
• activities that connect students with the local Ithaca area
• organized opportunities for families and guests to engage with current students, faculty, and staff
• more than 100 Orientation Staff members (professional and student staff) who support students’ transition to college
