Ithaca College faculty/student team presents panel on robot-building at Disney's Star Wars Celebration event in ChicagoContributed by Edward Schneider on 04/12/19
For his senior project in Communication Management & Design student Garrett Chin ('18) worked with Dr. Edd Schneider to build a life-sized working replica of the sphere-based robot BB-8 from the new Star Wars films. Garrett lead an interdisciplinary student team made up of Lauren Suna ('20), Avery Clark ('18), and Bennie Lemus ('18) to complete the project. Disney's Star Wars Celebration is the central event in the film and fandom world of Star Wars. The team from Ithaca College was invited to speak at the event on a panel to discuss their process and implications for robot building in STEM education. The project was headquartered in the Park School's Innovation Lab. |
