The Psychology Department held its Psychology Day on Tuesday, April 17 to showcase the research conducted on its nine Research Teams. Students from each Research Team presented and discussed posters displaying their work.

In recent years, students have presented such work at regional and national conferences, including the Eastern Psychological Association, New England Psychological Association, Society for Research in Child Development, National Conference on Undergraduate Research, and Eastern Colleges Science Conference.

Titles of the posters presented at Psychology Day appear below:

  •  “You ain’t never had a friend like me:” Portrayals of teen relationships and interactions in teen shows (Media Effects and Media Literacy Research Team)
  •  An investigation of counterfactual thinking in individuals diagnosed with diabetes (Human Motivation Research Team)
  • Laughter does not always equal pleasure: Anhedonia, sensation seeking, and impulsiveness (Psychology of Humor Research Team)
  •  Learning to think by learning to move: Links between self-produced locomotion and executive functioning in infancy (The Human Mind Research Team)
  • Never miss a golden opportunity: A program evaluation of a tutoring program (Developmental and Educational Psychology Research Team)
