In preparation for the visit of Afrofuturist author Nnedi Okorafor to Ithaca College on Saturday, April 27, we are offering the following workshop. Teaching Afrofuturist and Feminist Science Fiction Texts. Friday, April 26 4:30-5:30pm Clark Lounge offered by: Robyn L. Rosen, Professor of History, Marist College. Her research is on the history of the birth control and abortion rights movement. She teaches classes in modern U.S. history, the history of feminism, masculinity, the Black Freedom Struggle, and team-teaches a speculative fiction course with her colleague in the English Department. Alvin J. Henry, Assistant Professor of English, St. Lawrence University. His research explores queer black flesh and women of color myth-making. He teach courses on Afrofuturism, Queer Modernisms, and Critical Race Theory.
