We are deeply concerned that a swastika was found on the whiteboard of an Ithaca College student. This symbol of racism and anti-Semitism runs counter to the spirit of diversity, equity and inclusion that forms the foundation of our Ithaca College community, and cannot be tolerated. The Office of Religious and Spiritual Life and Hillel at Ithaca College greatly appreciate the swift and comprehensive response of senior administration and the Office of Public Safety. We stand ready to work with them and other campus partners to educate students about racism and anti-Semitism and ensure the safety and respect for all students on campus. As always, the safety of all of our students is our primary concern, especially Jewish students and the Hillel community during this time. We are here today and every day, available to you by phone, email, or text to process this hateful act. If you have other questions or concerns please email our Hillel Director at lgoldberg2@ithaca.edu or the Director of Religious and Spiritual Life at hosorto@ithaca.edu.
