After seven years of leading the Center for Faculty Excellence, Wade Pickren will retire in June upon the completion of the first iteration of the Chairs Academy. In his own words: "I thank the many faculty members who have helped make the CFE a valued and trusted resource for educational development and I am grateful for the collaborative spirit displayed by many staff members and their offices who have helped foster a sense of community across the campus. It has been wonderful to work under the leadership of President Shirley Collado and Provost La Jerne Cornish. Finally, I have been blessed to work with two of the finest people on earth, my staff, Judith Ross-Bernstein and Colette Matisco. After a long, varied, and interesting career, I feel that I was fortunate to save the best for last. Thanks to all!" The CFE will host drop-in farewell sessions for Wade on Friday, May 10, Noon-1:30 PM and Wednesday, May 15, 3:30-5:00 PM. Delightful refreshments will be served. Congratulations, thank you, and happy trails, Wade! John Krout used to call it "re-wirement," not "retirement." So, here's to a productive and engaged process of "re-wiring" yourself.
