Athletic Training Professor Wins Clinical Education Excellence AwardContributed by Paul Geisler on 05/16/19 Please join me in congratulating our Mike Matheny Excellence in Clinical Education Award Winner for 2019, Clinical Associate Professor, Todd W. Lazenby, MA, ATC! The Matheny Clinical Education Excellence award was created in the Athletic Training Education Program (Department of Exercise & Sport Sciences) 2 years ago to honor the 30 years of dedicated service and excellence in clinical education provided by Clinical Professor Mike Matheny, MS, ATC to the AT Education Program at Ithaca College. Clinical Associate Professor Courtney Gray, MS, ATC was the inaugural winner of the award in 2018. This year, Todd Lazenby, MS, ATC was chosen because of his incredible and undying commitment to our program vision, our students’ progression as professionals and clinicians, and to his athlete-patients. Students and peers note Todd’s high standards and expectations, his never-ending search for enhancing his clinical practice, and his stellar professionalism—all of which, add up to being an outstanding clinical mentor and educator for our students, and our faculty who thrive off his example and loyal teamwork. Congratulations and THANK YOU for all you do, every day, every semester…for all of us in the AT Education Program!
