Walter Byongsok Chon’s translation of the Korean play INCHING TOWARDS YEOLHA by Sam-Shik Pai received a staged reading presentation as part of the international Voices Project 2019.

The reading took place at Instituto Cervantes Chicago, from 6:30pm – 9:30pm, on June 4.

Synopsis of the play: A nearly-fossilized village in a desert suddenly goes into turmoil when Yeon-Ahm, a “four-legged beast,” starts talking about the world outside. When an inspector from the Emperor arrives, her talking makes her the scapegoat to save the village from being “erased.”
