Walter Byongsok Chon’s translation of the Korean play INCHING TOWARDS YEOLHA by Sam-Shik Pai received a staged reading presentation as part of the international Voices Project 2019.
The reading took place at Instituto Cervantes Chicago, from 6:30pm – 9:30pm, on June 4. Synopsis of the play: A nearly-fossilized village in a desert suddenly goes into turmoil when Yeon-Ahm, a “four-legged beast,” starts talking about the world outside. When an inspector from the Emperor arrives, her talking makes her the scapegoat to save the village from being “erased.” More information at: |
