Dr. Edd Schneider, from the Park School's Communication Management & Design department, and Julia Salvatore ('22) researched how head injury was shown and treated in different eras of comic books. Their presentation was titled "Heroism and Head Injury: Comic Books and Attitudes Towards TBI." Julia is a double major in CMD and Psychology. The interdisciplinary study showcased how some medically dangerous beliefs about traumatic brain injury have been propagated through the art form.
