The Office of the Provost and Sr. Vice President for Academic Affairs has an opening as an Administrative Assistant (9-month). This position offers an opportunity to be part of a diverse and dynamic team while offering the flexibility to have the months of January, June and July free.  We are in search of an individual with strong clerical skills, with a proactive and engaging personality. 

This role will provide administrative and secretarial support within the Office of the Provost and Sr. Vice President for Academic Affairs and serve as the first point of contact for visitors and callers. As this position will be the face of the administration suites, it is crucial that the selected candidate convey warmth, competency and inclusion. 

As this is a position working with a wide range of constituents, the selected candidate must possess experience successfully communicating with and working alongside individuals of different cultures and backgrounds. 

This position will also be responsible for a myriad of other administrative support responsibilities. This includes but is not limited to management of calendars and travel arrangements, confidential information and inquiries and prepare correspondence. Other significant responsibilities include preparing and distributing agendas, maintaining records, transcribing meeting minutes and other project, program and committee support functions.

This position will have many fiscal and budgetary responsibilities, such as, processing purchasing and other financial records, reconciling procurement card transactions and processing vendor payments.

The ideal candidate will possess the following skills, experience and attributes: Associate’s degree and a minimum of 2 years’ of previous office experience or the equivalent combination of education and experience; strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to effectively work and interact respectfully within a diverse and inclusive environment, excellent organizational skill, solid working knowledge of various word processing, spreadsheet and database software applications; ability to multi-task and process sensitive and confidential information; previous experience maintaining and reconciling office and project budgets, and good attention to detail are required. Previous experience working with on-line information systems, on-line corporate calendars and experience working in a college or university setting are preferred.
