As we prepare to welcome students and families to campus for the start of a new academic year, the IC Web Team is happy to announce the launch of a brand new online campus map for our website at map.ithaca.edu.

Building off of the improved, mobile-friendly map we launched with the redesigned website last spring, this new photorealistic view of our campus represents more than a year of planning and design work focused on delivering a better representation of our campus for all audiences. Not only does the new angle of the map provide better views of the campus layout, but we're also able to show the entire campus boundary in one single image, from the Garden Apartments to the Circle Apartments, and the full forested boundary of the IC Natural Lands.

No matter what size screen is being used to view the map, visitors will see several improvements, including:

• a more accurate representation of scale and physical terrain across campus
• more visible pathways between buildings and clearly defined staircases across campus
• detailed parking layouts, including accessible parking zones

Working with our vendor, CampusTours, our content and creative teams combined new aerial photography with images shot by IC students at ground level to accurately represent the colors, shapes, and textures of buildings and key campus features, giving the map a sense of dimension and familiarity for on-campus visitors.

Future enhancements will be coming in the year ahead, including marked nature trails, bus stops, and multimedia content. Plans are also underway to use this new map image in future editions of our printed maps and wayfinding kiosks across campus.
